RAF Waddington International Air Show, held on 4 & 5 July 2009, is the largest RAF Air Show in the country. Established at RAF Waddington in 1995, its origins go back to the early 1970s when RAF Finningley near Doncaster held the first of a series of Battle of Britain commemorative air displays. These have now grown into the 2-day spectacular that thrills the crowds every year during the first weekend of July. Display teams converge onto RAF Waddington every year to strut their stuff performing exhilarating spectacles that electrify the huge crowds that regularly attend these amazing performances.
